Terms of service
Effective October 12, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and John Clos, a sole proprietor doing business as Math Ladder ("we", "us"). By creating an account, making sheets or buying anything on mathladder.net, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.
1. Who can use Math Ladder
You must be 18 or older to create an account or buy anything. You may make sheets for students you teach or care for, such as your own students at home, tutoring students or a class. Students do not use the website themselves.
2. Your account
Keep your sign-in details safe and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens in your account. Give us an email address you can receive mail at, because sign-in links and receipts go there.
3. Purchases and access
- Per student. Every purchase is for one named student in your account and cannot be moved to another student, except by us at our discretion.
- Stages and bundles give that student access for as long as Math Ladder operates.
- The All-Access Pass gives that student every stage for 365 days from when it starts. It does not renew automatically. A pass bought while another is active starts when the current one ends. When a pass ends, the student's progress is kept, but sheets that need the pass can no longer be made or downloaded until you buy access again.
- Family discount. A pass may be discounted when another student in your account has an active pass or one in the same order. Discounts apply at checkout and cannot be added afterward.
- Prices are in US dollars and may change, but a change never affects an order you have already paid for. Sales tax is added where required.
- Payment is processed by Stripe. Access starts when payment is confirmed.
- Access codes give the access described when they are made, for one student each, and have no cash value.
4. Free use
Stage 3 is free, with or without an account. Placement checks are free for every stage. Free features may change or have limits.
5. Fair use
To keep the service fast for everyone, there are limits on how many new sheets and books can be made in a period of time. These limits are generous for normal use, and they never stop you downloading what you have already made. Do not use scripts, bots or other automated means to make or download sheets, and do not try to get around the limits.
6. Refunds
If you are not happy with a purchase, email support@mathladder.net with your receipt number. Refunds are at our discretion, except where the law gives you a right to one. A refunded item's access ends when it is refunded. If you dispute a charge with your bank, the access from that order may be suspended while the dispute is open.
7. Using the sheets
Math Ladder, its sheets, answer keys, books, method, text and design are ours and are protected by copyright. When you make a sheet for a student, you may print and copy it as often as you need for that student. You may not sell, publish, share online, or distribute sheets or answer keys to others, or use them to build a competing product. Teachers using Math Ladder with a class need access for each student.
8. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service: no attempts to break in, overload it, copy it in bulk, get around access rules, or use it unlawfully. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. If we close an account for a reason other than a breach of these terms, we will refund the unused part of any active pass.
9. Educational results
Math Ladder is practice material. We work hard to make every sheet correct, and every problem is checked before it can be printed, but we cannot promise particular results for any student. Use your own judgment about what is right for each student.
10. Availability and changes
We aim to keep Math Ladder running smoothly but cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or improve the service. If we ever shut Math Ladder down, we will give at least 60 days' notice by email so you can download what you have made, and we will refund the unused part of any active pass.
11. Disclaimers and limits
Except as stated in these terms, the service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
12. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from your Account page. Deleting it ends all access, including any remaining pass time, which is not refunded.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona and applicable US federal law. Before bringing a claim, please email us so we can try to resolve it informally. Any claim that cannot be resolved informally may be brought in the state or federal courts located in Arizona, or in small claims court where you live if it qualifies.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will email account holders before it takes effect. Continuing to use Math Ladder after that means you accept the new terms.
