How to do it

Cross multiply, then divide: 3/4 = x/20 gives 4x = 60, so x = 15.

x3=166x=8\dfrac{x}{3} = \dfrac{16}{6}\quad x = 8
x×6=3×16x \times 6 = 3 \times 16cross multiply
6x=486x = 48
x=8x = 8divide both sides by 6
