How to do it

Add like radicals the way you add like terms. Multiply: √a × √b = √(ab), then simplify.

82×52=8×5×2=808\sqrt{2} \times 5\sqrt{2} = 8 \times 5 \times 2 = 80√2 × √2 = 2

Example problems

  1. 37+87=3\sqrt{7} + 8\sqrt{7} =
  2. 610×510=6\sqrt{10} \times 5\sqrt{10} =
  3. 67−37=6\sqrt{7} - 3\sqrt{7} =
  4. 710×610=7\sqrt{10} \times 6\sqrt{10} =
