How to do it

Slope = (change in y) ÷ (change in x) = (y₂ − y₁) ÷ (x₂ − x₁).

(−6,−6) and (−3,−3):slope=1(-6, -6)\ \text{and }(-3, -3):\quad \text{slope} = 1
−3−(−6)−3−(−6)=33=1\dfrac{-3 - (-6)}{-3 - (-6)} = \dfrac{3}{3} = 1change in y over change in x

Example problems

  1. (−9,−9) and (0,−6):slope=(-9, -9)\ \text{and }(0, -6):\quad \text{slope} =
  2. (−7,−7) and (0,−4):slope=(-7, -7)\ \text{and }(0, -4):\quad \text{slope} =
  3. (−7,0) and (7,6):slope=(-7, 0)\ \text{and }(7, 6):\quad \text{slope} =
  4. (8,5) and (7,7):slope=(8, 5)\ \text{and }(7, 7):\quad \text{slope} =
