How to do it

Find the greatest factor shared by every term. Write it outside the parentheses.

10x2+6x=2x(5x)+2x(3)=2x(5x+3)10x^{2} + 6x = 2x(5x) + 2x(3) = 2x(5x + 3)the GCF of every term is 2x

Example problems

  1. 16x3−40x2=16x^{3} - 40x^{2} =
  2. 5x3−5x2+45x=5x^{3} - 5x^{2} + 45x =
  3. 30x+18=30x + 18 =
  4. 10x2−35=10x^{2} - 35 =
